I will never miss Dragon*Con again if at all possible. It was the best convention I have ever been to. I don’t know if it was all the awesome geekout worthy stars that just wandered around the con and were actually friendly, or if it was the amazing people that I met from the podcasting track.
Unfortunately I wasn’t able to make my steampunk version of The Tick this year, but I have plenty of time to get it done by next year. I also have some other people here who are going to hold me accountable for that.
Anyway onto my thoughts on the experiences I had at Dragon*Con. I got to meet a bunch of my favorite authors like Scott Sigler, J.C. Hutchins, Tee Morris, Philippa Ballantine, Mur Lafferty, and many more. I could easily keep going, but I don’t want to bore you with names. Everyone was so nice and easy to talk to. They through some fun parties too. One of the highlights of the weekend was when I got to play photograhper for Steve Saylor. He landed an interview with Morena Baccarin(Inara from Firefly). I want to thank him again for letting me help out during the interview. Because of him I got a picture with Morena.
There was also a really fun Dr. Horrible sing-a-long, which apparently had about 3000 people show up for it. It was the first official Dr. Horrible sing-a-long event ever and not only did they play the video for it, they also had people on stage to reenact it.
The costumes that people were wearing were amazing. Lots of steampunk, which I love. You can see the pictures I took in my Dragon*Con 2008 Flickr Set.
