Well the AberrantMan is back and the site looks half way decent once again. I just had to find time to edit the k2 theme so I could make my style work with it. Thanks for your patience.
I apologize for the look of my blog right now. I know it looks rather bland and generic, but that is because I am working on some bugs my K2 Style sheet that I use. The green and the AberrantMan should be back shortly.
I have been reading alot of news lately about social media, and the power of social networks and the top users in them. I think it is great that people are starting to get paid for contributing quality content. The problem I am having is how certain members of the communities are feeling under appreciated and expecting more from the sites themselves. I dont see how using a tool to make yourself money/fame gives you any right to demand that the creator of that tool give you anything. I am mainly talking about the Digg/Netscape competition and how Netscape is paying some of Diggs top users to come use their service. I just read that Diggs current top user left the site in anger because Diggs creator is trying to make the site a bit more democratic in the stories that make it to the home page instead of small groups of people controlling exactly what is on the home page of Digg. I am very happy to see that Digg is working to maintain what it has always tried to be, a site that accepts news from users and puts the quality/popular stories up front for everyone to see. It shouldn’t be controlled by select groups of people, every story should have a chance.
